分享一件让我一见钟情的民国40年代古董旗袍，在50年代左右被原主人带到了，受到当时西方流行元素的影响，在原有的基础上增加了省道。

白色的古董旗袍在我的收藏品里比较罕见，因为白色不易保存，更不要说经历了漫长岁月的洗礼，能保存下来的全品真的是少之又少。

这件纯白的棉质法式复古印花旗袍让我瞬间回到了杜拉斯的《情人》中那艘驶离西贡的渡轮，热带的风吹起女孩纯白的棉质裙摆，东方的情欲含蓄如细雨，西方的情感炽烈如烈日，这才是真正的法式中国风，这才是真正的南洋美学。

"What did overseas Chinese girls wear daily 80 years ago?"

"I want to share an antique Qipao from the 1940s Republic of China era that I fell in love with at first sight. It was brought overseas by its original owner around the 1950s. Influenced by the Western popular elements of that time, pleats (darts) were added to the original design to better tailor the fit.

White antique Qipaos are quite rare in my collection because white fabric is difficult to preserve, let alone surviving the long passage of time. A piece in perfect condition that has endured such a history is truly hard to come by.

This pure white, cotton, French retro-print Qipao instantly transported me back to the ferry leaving Saigon in Marguerite Duras' novel, The Lover. The tropical wind lifts the girl’s pure white cotton skirt, where the Oriental desire is subtle as fine rain, and the Western emotion is fierce as the scorching sun. This, truly, is the authentic French Chinoiserie; this is the genuine Nanyang (Southeast Asian) Aesthetic."
